What I teach

Two subjects, taught with equal care.

Good reading supports every subject, and curiosity makes reading more meaningful. Lessons in English and Science help students make sense of what they’re learning in class, and enjoy it a little more along the way.

Topics reflect what students commonly explore in Ontario elementary classrooms, and lessons can follow what your child is working on at school.

Meet Miss Amira

A warm welcome. A thoughtful approach.

Hi, I’m Amira.

I believe children learn best when they feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, and trying again.

My background is in education, and I’ve spent many years supporting learners. I bring patience, structure, and plenty of encouragement to every lesson.

My goal is simple: to help each student understand what they’re learning, and feel proud of the progress they make.

Ways to learn

Choose the setting that suits your child.

Some children do their best work with one‑on‑one attention. Others enjoy thinking things through alongside classmates. Both options share the same aim: real understanding.

One-on-one

Private Tutoring

Focused lessons, built entirely around your child.

  • Individual attention
  • Learning based on your child’s needs
  • Time to ask every question
  • Focused explanations and practice
  • Support at a comfortable pace

Together

Small-Group Learning

A supportive setting to talk, practise, and think together.

  • Shared discussion
  • Interactive practice
  • Opportunities to learn from one another
  • A supportive group environment
  • Collaborative thinking and participation

Not sure which would suit your child? Ask, and we’ll work it out together.

How it works

Good learning starts with understanding.

There’s no one-size-fits-all lesson. Instead, there’s a simple approach that puts your child’s understanding first.

  1. Listen & Understand

We start by finding out what your child finds easy, what feels difficult, and where the confusion begins.

  2. Learn & Practise

Clear explanations, helpful examples, and age-appropriate activities help new ideas make sense.

  3. Build Confidence

New skills are reinforced over time, with the aim of helping students feel more capable and independent.

Small steps, steady progress, and plenty of encouragement.

Inside a lesson

What a session might look like.

Every lesson is shaped around the student, but many follow a familiar, reassuring rhythm. Here’s one example.

This is an illustrative example only. Activities and timing vary with each student and lesson.

Today’s lesson

Sample plan

  1. A friendly check-in

A few minutes to settle in and talk about the week.

  2. A clear learning goal

One focused aim, so the lesson has a purpose.

  3. Guided explanation

New ideas, explained step by step with helpful examples.

  4. Practising together

Trying it out with support, then a little more independently.

  5. A quick recap

Looking back at what was learned, and what comes next.

For parents

Because learning is a team effort.

You know your child better than anyone. Before lessons begin, we can talk about how school is going, what feels tricky right now, and what you’d like to focus on.

You’re always welcome to ask questions and stay involved along the way. Conversations can happen in English or Arabic, whichever is more comfortable for your family.

  • Share your goals
  • Ask questions
